Description
Rolex Submariner Vintage Plexiglass
reference 5513 serial 1.6XX year 1969
watch accompanied by box, guarantee, 200mt certificate and certificate of authenticity issued by the dealer who sold it in 1969.
Good aesthetic and working condition
The Rolex Submariner 5513 saw the light in 1962, when it joined the ref. 5512 as a cheaper version without chronometer certificate.
Aesthetically very similar to the Submariner 5512, it has a very long career that ends only in 1989.
It took the name Ref. 5513 and initially mounted the cal. 1530, which was replaced after about a year by the new cal. 1520 movement.
The Submariner 5513 also used the case with pointed shoulders until ’64, before switching to the more conventional rounded shoulders in 1965.
The evolution of the dials mirrors exactly that of ref. 5512, with the obvious exception of the chronometer certificate, which is not present.
To summarise, we find glossy dials with closed chapter ring from 1962 to ’64, glossy dials with open chapter ring from 1965 to ’67 and the matt matt version from 1968 to about 1985.
